This will provide you with an overview of what is required to set-up and record a multimedia (VGA) presentation.
A large amount of Digitell's work is recording multimedia presentations at conferences. When recording numerous concurrent rooms at a conference, it is standard procedure for most clients that we will be recording the audio from the speakers microphone and synchronizing that with a graphics feed from the presenters laptop.
We achieve this by utilizing the software called Wirecast. Wirecast is a broadcast and recording software platform that we run on our onsite computers. You can find a collection of tutorials on Wirecast here.
Digitell has been using Wirecast for many years and have found it to be very stable and robust. It allows the technician capturing or streaming the content greater production flexibility to produce a very engaging video presentation. It is essential to test all of your feeds to make sure that you are receiving the highest possible quality audio and a graphics feed at the correct aspect ration, etc.
Testing ahead of time, early, is the best way to achieve success. Relying on your team mates to check your feeds and your overall recording is recommended, even if you are an experienced technician. We only get one chance to capture the content so double and triple checking your work and the work of our team is crucial in the success of the event.
